Electricity
Electricity is 220V in Ireland and flat three pin plugs are used. A lot of bathrooms have
two pin 110V to 120V plugs for shavers and if adapters are needed, they can be purchased
in Electrical shops, or you can pick one up before leaving.
Weather
Ireland generally has a mild, temperate climate; however sometimes the weather there works on 'four seasons in a day'
principal, meaning things can be a little unpredictable.
Summer temperatures generally range from 60ºF/15ºC to 70ºF/20ºC. The warmest months tend to be July and August.
Spring and fall are generally 50ºF/10ºC.
Winter is between 40ºF/5ºC and 46ºF/8ºC. Snow is rare, but rain can occur at any time of the year. The coldest months are
January and February
Smoking
The Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland have introduced a blanket ban on smoking in all places of work
to protect public health and reduce the incidences of smoking related illness.
Smoking is prohibited in public areas - this includes all bars, nightclubs and restaurants.
Although hotel bedrooms may be exempt from the ban, it is applied to all other areas within hotels.
Money
Ireland uses GBP in Northern Ireland (£) and Euro in The Republic of Ireland (€).
